Prior to beginning your personalized exercise program, one of our specialists will assess each of our clients in several areas of fitness. These "measurements" give us a starting point from which to gauge your success as you progress through your program. Included in this assessment are tests which look at:
- Height/weight
- Body Fat Percentage and Body Mass Index
- Pulse Rate
- Circumference Measurements
- Cardiorespiratory Fitness
- Upper Body Muscular Strength
- Lower Body Muscular Endurance
Re-Assessment
All clients are re-assessed on a regular basis (approximately every 6 weeks). The re-assessments are essential because they allow a formal opportunity for the staff to review progress with each client, set new short-term goals, and make any necessary modifications to the training regimen. The results of each assessment are presented in a detailed report which is the clients to keep.
Postural Evaluation
Does your neck start hurting or do you get a headache every day around 3:30 PM? Is your low back really stiff when you wake in the morning or after driving your car for more than a few minutes? Like most of the adult population, you most likely have some muscular imbalances, which, over a lifetime, can lead to pain and subsequent injuries. Our fitness specialists are trained to evaluate your posture. By observing each client performing specific movements, our specialists can identify muscles that need to be lengthened and muscles that need to be strengthened. And like your workouts, this flexibility/strengthening routine will be personalized. This postural evaluation is done as part of your initial overall fitness profile.
